Version 1.3 released on June 1, 2001
New features included in this release are:
Object ownership and permissions
The administrator will be able to define list of users allowed to use FBSNG queues and process types. Authorized users of these objects will be able to perform certain administrative functions on those objects:
  • Hold/release the queue;
  • Define intra-queue scheduling parameters;
  • Restrict processes of the process type to start on certain nodes. This is equivalent to holding/releasing farm nodes with respect to processes of the process type
Asynchronous job status change notifications
FBSNG API users will be able to receive asynchronous notifications about batch job section and process status changes. This will allow to develop event-driven FBSNG client applications.
Direct targeting of farm nodes
New FBSNG JDF field and corresponding API functionality will allow users to explicitly specify the node or nodes where the job section is to be executed.
